Waihoihoi Lodge - things are changing...

Martha to Arthur....  Waihoihoi Lodge will become Dragon Tree Lodge

On 1 September two of my best friends Ian Render and Phillip are going to take over the Lodge, they have a lease for two years, and if they can sell their own properties, they hope to buy the Lodge. They will turn the lodge into "an exceptional men's getaway" called Dragon Tree Lodge. So instead of having a focus on women's accommodation, Dragon Tree will become a special place for gay men.

Disappointed? But wait - its not the end - there is more....

      Waihoihoi Lodge may open again....

After going away for a few months at the end 2009, I  have moved into the Studio at the Lodge in the meantime, where I am basing myself, working on the websites and in the community.

It was great to have Ceridwyn and Danielle at the Lodge in 2009 , and it has provided me with a breathing space to decide what to do next. I had to face that the Lodge as it is, is too much for me to handle alone.

I have a number of options, including the possibility of building on the land I own beside the present Lodge - and perhaps another place for women traveler. -   I am looking at building two units for guests - plus a shared kitchen dining area.  I think it is going to be fabulous - but I would say that! I will plan a smaller garden and find myself sketching plans and dreaming of possibilities often.

      The timeline for changes....

    • 1 August 2008 - the present Lodge will close, and Ian and Phillip will move
    • 1 September 2008 Ian and Phillip take over as owners or leasing the Lodge
    • Late August - Rosemary will be going overseas for a few months - mostly Europe and UK.
    • 1 October 2009 - The Lodge re-opens as Dragon Tree Lodge so tell your gay friends about this now!
    • 2009 - waiting to see what develops next.
