Native Plantings Five years ago the land was a bare paddock, grazed by animals. We have planted hundreds of native trees, grasses and flaxes You can see (and hear) Tui, Wood Pigeon, and other birds are slowly returning and the dawn chorus is getting louder
We also have a small piece of bush which we are restoring. It has some majestic old Puriri trees, and new seedlings are popping through. Slowly we are cutting out the gorse, and building pathways.. |

SubTropical Orchard In a sheltered corner of the garden an organic subtropical orchard is getting established, with bananas, tamarillos, passionfruit, pepinos and lots of other edible fruit. Visit Subtropica Nursery across the road and buy some subtropicals to take home! |
