    All bedrooms downstairs open onto sunny north facing decks, with your own access. Two bedrooms have their own ensuite, one has a toilet and spa bath next door. Upstairs two rooms share a bathroom and have a warm, funky feel, with windows open to the sky in Matariki, or a balcony overlooking Bream Bay in Te Ra.  We particularly welcome women who are travelling alone, and this is recognised in the special price for single occupants in the Harakeke room.

    Check out time is 11am unless otherwise arranged.

    Paua - bask in the luxury of space and the best view in the house. The ensuite has a beautiful paua and glass artwork embedded in the tiles and a view of the sea.

    * Paua is a New Zealand shellfish with a beautiful blue green shell which is used in a individually crafted shower floor. Paua is used on Maori carvings and also in local hand made jewellery.  it is also the name of the Resene colour used in the room. To the top

    * Harakeke is maori for the flax plant which is grown around the house. It attracts the birds and is used for weaving. "A small woven flax basket on the door welcomes you to Harakeke Room, which has a pacific theme: wasabi feature wall, a Tongan tapa cloth over the bed, and a stunning bathroom floor with a cast glass centrepiece and tiles around it cut into the shape of pohutukawa leaves."



    Pohutukawa - escape to the red warmth of Pohutukawa with a cosy corner for an afternoon nap. Luxuriate in the spa bath with a glass of wine.

    * Matariki is the Maori name for the Pleides Star group, also known as the 7 sisters. Matariki rising in the eastern sky is the signal for the Maori new year to be celebrated - this winter festival is also known as Matariki, and is a time of feasting and celebration, and a time to remember the ancestors.
